The 4th Tsinghua Global Youth Dialogue 2026: Recruitment Now Open!

Tsinghua Global Youth Dialogue (TGYD) is an international exchange platform established by Tsinghua University for young leaders worldwide. It brings together emerging changemakers, fosters a global network for youth cooperation, and strengthens global competence throughimmersive dialogue and practice—creating a collaborative ecosystem for Chinese andinternational youth to learn, connect, and co-create. In 2026, TGYD will center on the theme "Bridging the Divides (破界同行)" and select global youth leaders to engage in practical explorations and dialogues across Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing from June 27 to July 10. The program will deepen mechanisms such as quantifiable and tiered mechanisms for international youth organization cooperation, case studies on future-oriented youth leadership development, and global competence assessment frameworks.


A Look Back at TGYD’s Impact


Since its inception, the TGYD has gained significant global recognition:

First TGYD (2023): Welcomed 60 youth representatives from 33 countries with support from China's Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other governmental bodies. The event was extensively covered by major media outlets, including CCTV, People’s Daily, and China Daily, and was distributed in four languages—English, French, Arabic, and Spanish—reaching 868 international media platforms.

Second TGYD (2024): Expanded to 100 youth representatives from 40 countries, covering all ASEAN and BRICS nations, 17 leading universities in the US and UK, and 70 international youth organizations. The event was reported in nine languages across 359 international media platforms, including AP, Japan’s Mainichi Shimbun, and Australia’s Canberra Times.

Third TGYD (2025): Brought together a curated cohort of 60 youth leaders fromaround 30 countries, launching from Shenzhen on 29 June 2025 and travelling acrossthree stations — Shenzhen, Guizhou, and Beijing. Centred on the main forum at Tsinghua University, the program combined themed dialogues with site visits todeepen youth-to-youth cooperation, catalyse new partnerships, and amplify sharedstories through extensive media coverage.

  • Hangzhou – “Smart China”
    Explore the frontiers of the digital economy, AI innovation, and smart manufacturing.   Visit leading tech companies and experience the blend of technology and tradition around West Lake.

  • Shanghai – “Open China”
    Dive into global finance, innovation ecosystems, and port logistics in one of the world’s  most dynamic cities. Engage with youth startups and international community hubs.

  • Beijing – “Cultural China”
    Participate in civilizational dialogues at Tsinghua University, visit cultural landmarks,    and co-create future-focused initiatives in thematic workshops.
