The major responsibility in the team is to support The GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP) mainly focusing on (80%~90% of the intern's time): Supporting workshop/training organization; Translation and proof reading for SGP related documents; Project information updating (database and website); Maintaining close relationship with NGO partners via social media and campaigns; Summarizing the good practices from 89 completed and on-going projects; Drafting meeting minutes Supporting project Monitoring &Evaluation Ad hoc assignments Other tasks to support UNDP Environment & Energy Team in general (20%~10% of the intern's time): Translation and interpretation; Taking meeting notes Knowledge management (contributing to UNDP Social Media by summarizing the events and missions within E&E team) Ad hoc assignments
Competencies Fluency in English and Chinese Background on communication Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web based management systems General understanding of NGO and international development issues. Required Skills and Experience Master degree in communication, environment or international development. Education Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements: Enrolled in a Master's or in a Ph.D. programme, Or in the final year of a Bachelor's programme, Or within one year after graduation from a Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. programme, Or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program. Degree in development-related field such as international relations, development studies, sociology, political sciences or environmental studies is desirable.
