2015年9月，世界各国领导人在联合国可持续发展峰会上通过了2030年可持续发展议程，并于2016年1月1日正式生效。该议程涵盖了17个可持续发展目标（SDGs），旨在引领各国致力于消除一切形式的贫穷、实现平等和应对气候变化，同时确保没有一个人掉队。SDGs为世界各国的发展和国际协作指明了方向，勾画了世界繁荣可持续的蓝图。
In September 2015, the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was agreed upon by 193 member states and came into force on January 1, 2016. This global agenda, which includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aiming to lead countries in their efforts to eradicate all forms of poverty, achieve equality and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind. SDGs set the direction for global development and international collaboration and outlines a blueprint for a prosperous and sustainable world.
高校肩负着人才培养、科学研究、社会服务、文化传承创新和国际交流合作等多重功能，为17个可持续发展目标（SDGs）的实现提供知识和解决方案，是动员和践行SDGs的重要平台。清华大学在履行大学职能中，努力为促进SDGs在校内、国内及全球范围的实现做出贡献。
Universities shoulder multiple functions, including talent training, research, social service, cultural inheritance and innovation, and international exchange and cooperation. Universities provide knowledge and solutions for the realization of the 17 SDGs and act as an important platform for mobilizing and practicing SDGs. In performing its functions as a university, Tsinghua University strives to contribute to the campus-wide, nationwide, and worldwide implementation of the SDGs.
在清华大学110周年校庆之际，清华大学策划“大学”系列论坛——“大学·可持续发展”专题论坛，并发布《清华大学SDG行动报告》，面向社会大众传播可持续发展理念，介绍清华可持续发展大学建设实践。
While celebrating its 110th anniversary, Tsinghua University organizes “On University Series: Tsinghua - Towards Sustainable Development Goals”, and plans to release the Tsinghua University Report on Sustainable Development Goals on the forum, to disseminate the concept of sustainable development to the public and show its construction and practice to implement the SDGs.
