Hometown

Can you describe your hometown and things special about it?

"I grew up in Canberra, the capital of Australia, with a population of less than 400,000 people and a lot of beautiful birds and kangaroos!"

School Activity

What are some of the activities that you participated in during your time in school?

"In my first year, a classmate and I set up a student club in our school of SPPM where we held regular movie nights showing movies and documentaries related to Chinese development for our classmates. It was both an educational and enjoyable experience!

Throughout my studies at Tsinghua I was also part of the soccer association. It was a really great way for me to meet Chinese students, stay fit, represent Tsinghua and share a love for soccer."

Mentorship

Tell us more stories about your experience in your Tsinghua Journey.

"A school can only be excellent when it is filled with outstanding teachers"

"I am very grateful to all the professors I had at SPPM for our courses on International Development, such as public policy analysis, politics in China and global governance, as well as courses from other departments including on global health governance and rural society. I learnt a lot from the variety of classes I took, and it was especially interesting to learn about the content from a Chinese perspective. I am also very grateful to my supervisor, Professor Jia Xijin for her valuable guidance and support through the writing of my thesis, which through the process of creating and sense of achievement once completed became one of the highlights of my Tsinghua experience."
