Qualifications
Education
Bachelor or Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental Sciences. A specialisation in sustainable and Urban Development is desirable as well as knowledge of atmospheric composition requirements.
Experience
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience. Any experience related to operational management and managing online events will be asset.
Other requirements
Able to work independently and with minimum supervision in a team environment. Excellent knowledge of written and oral communication. Good knowledge and experience with social media and website upkeep and management.
Languages
Excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of other WMO official languages is desirable.

DUTY STATION: Geneva, Switzerland
NATURE OF APPOINTMENT: 6 months
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: 17 April 2023
Qualifications
Education
Minimum requirement: Bachelor degree; Master's degree preferred. Educational background in natural sciences and knowledge in hydrology or water resources management.
Experience
Some working experience/knowledge in hydrological monitoring, data management and exchange, measurements, network design, technical regulations or data systems is an advantage.
Other requirements
• Understanding the framework for water players and stakeholders, NMHS role
• Good communication and presenting skills
• Skilled user of standard MS software applications;
• Technical skills in hydrology (data analysis, measurement techniques, data systems) an advantage
• Ability to write/revise reports and organize meetings and contact experts
• Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and its specialized agencies such as WMO
• Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Languages
Excellent knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of other official WMO langauges is an advantage.

ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: Regional Office for Europe, Member Services and Development Department
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: 15 April 2023
NATURE OF APPOINTMENT: 6 months
COMMENCEMENT OF DUTY: 15 May 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor or equivalent university degree from a recognized university or technical institute in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Having completed or being enrolled in the last year in a similar master's Programme of a recognized University would be an asset.
Experience
• Knowledge of relevant software such as Dynamics 365, Drupal, and Power BI
• Information management skills
• Data analysis skills
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, functions, etc.)
• Knowledge of ArcGIS would be an asset
• Previous work with CRM and CMS systems would be an asset
Other requirements
Sense of responsibility, detail-oriented, initiative, ability to work in a team. Some knowledge of the activities of WMO or other United Nations agencies.
Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written).
