Global Digital Partnership and UN's 75th Anniversary
Global Digital Cooperation UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres established the high-level group on digital cooperation in July 2018, aiming at promoting the cooperation between governments, the private sector, civil communities, international organizations, technological and academical groups, and other relevant stakeholders in DIGITAL SPACE. The panel's reporter, releasing a report in June 2019, in which called for the strong wish of building an inclusive digital society to spark the digital economy. It focused on the desire to promote the credibility of the digital world about security and stability, to develop the trust and security of the digital world, in order to form a shared vision of stability for the digital, strengthen the implementation of the responsible use of technical specifications to promote the global digital cooperation, eliminating inequality of the trade under the globalization. UN's 75th Anniversary The United Nations in 2020 is going to celebrate its 75th birthday. The big theme for the commemoration is about "our future hope and our indispensable UN". It is high time that the member states could reaffirm our collective commitment to multilateralism, and to reach the consensus to sign a concise, useful, forward-looking and unified declaration, showing the concerns of multilateralism and the UN collective commitment, as well as the shared vision for the future of the International Community. UN's 75th Anniversary theme will be the guide for all the coming activities, conferences and resolution of the General Assembly organized by the UN in 2020. Guest introduction Fabrizio Hochschild-Drummond Fabrizio Hochschild Under-Secretary-General on Digital Cooperation, Frontier Technology and the Preparations for the Commemoration of the UN's 75th Anniversary Mr. Hochschild who has been serving as Assistant Secretary-General for Strategic Coordination in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General since 2017, will support the Secretary-General in coordinating the preparation for the commemoration of UN's 75th Anniversary in 2020 and related celebrations, through a system-wide process of consultations and reflections on the role of the United Nations in advancing international co-operation and in supporting Member States' ability to respond to emerging challenges and frontier issues. Mr. Hochschild served as Deputy Special Representative for the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) in 2016, UN Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator and Resident Representative of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) in Colombia from 2013 to 2016, Director of the Field Personnel Division in the United Nations Department of Field Support, New York from 2010 to 2012; and as Chief of Field Operations and Technical Cooperation in the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Geneva from 2005 to 2009. He began his United Nations career in 1988 with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Sudan and served in subsequent postings with UNHCR, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and in peacekeeping. He was posted in Sudan, Jerusalem, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Geneva, New York, Timor-Leste, Serbia and the United Republic of Tanzania.
