Program Introduction
Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute (TBSI) was jointly established in 2014 by University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley), Tsinghua University and Shenzhen municipal government on the initiative of building a bridge across disciplines, cultures and countries, academia and industry, and an unprecedented platform for international collaboration, fostering future entrepreneurs and leaders in science and technology.
Data Science and Information Technology PhD Program, based on multi-disciplinary integration and corresponding advantages of Tsinghua and Berkeley, adopts the idea of cross-disciplinary Integration of Arts, Sciences, Engineering, and Business. In the current data explosion era where information technology usage and penetration is extensively spread, the program aims at training talents through muftidisciplinary research on information technology, economics and society, covering research directions in Information System and Electromechanical Materials.
