Program Introduction
TUM is one of the first universities in Germany to be named a University of Excellence. It is regularly ranked among the best European universities, being associated with 13 Nobel Prize Laureates, 18 Leibniz Prize winners and 5 Humboldt Professors since its establishment in 1868. As of 2015/16 winter semester, TUM has a total enrollment of nearly 40,000 students, of whom 8,774 are from international background.
In the past, students from Tsinghua's School of Architecture, Economics and Commerce, Aerospace, Department of Precision Instrument, Chemistry and Mechanical Engineering have gone on exchange through this program.

Basic Requirements
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Chemistry at TUM conduct most of the teaching in German, only very limited number of classes is taught in English. Applicants are advised to have already achieved some level of proficiency in German before departure.
