Finnish Ambassador enhances cultural and academic exchanges with Tsinghua

Ambassador Marja Rislakki, the Finnish Ambassador to China paid a visit to Tsinghua University on July 6th. On this, her first visit to Tsinghua, the ambassador was welcomed by Tsinghua Vice President SHI Yigong.

During the official meeting, Prof. SHI delivered an update on the recent history of Tsinghua University, highlighting examples of Tsinghua’s internationalization strategy.

Prof. SHI expressed the hope that Tsinghua University and partner institutions in Finland can continue to further strengthen cooperation, promote student and staff exchanges.

The sentiment was echoed by Ambassador Rislakki who hopes that going forward, Finnish universities and research institutions will continue to strengthen cooperation ties with Tsinghua, as well as enhance cultural and academic exchanges.

Following the official meeting, Ambassador Rislakki attended the book launch of "Moomin Series," an illustrated literary children’s classic from Finland. The book launch, facilitated by Tsinghua, aims to promote the establishment of friendly bilateral exchange and cultural understanding beginning at an adolescent age.
