Overview of the Functions of the Post
Underthe direct supervision of the National Professional Officer for Communicationand Information, you will carry out the following tasks:
Assist in the coordination and implementationof programme and project activities and provide administrative support;
Assist with drafting, translating andproofreading of project documents and reports;
Assist in coordination and organization ofproject-related events and meetings;
Assist with designing, drafting andproofreading public outreach materials and news items for the UNESCO websiteand social media platforms;
Undertake any other tasks as assigned by thesupervisor.
Profile
- Must be atleast 20 years old at the time of application.
- Completed full-time university studies(bachelor's degree or equivalent) at a university or equivalent institutionprior to commencing the assignment; or enrolled in a graduate program (seconduniversity degree or Master's degree or equivalent, or higher), at the time ofapplication; or recently graduated with a university degree (first or seconddegree as defined above), within the last 12 months.
- Major in communication studies, informationscience, or other CI related fields;
- Excellent command of English and Chinese (oraland written);
- Strong strategic and analytical skills;
- Good computer and IT skills and experience inusing office software packages;
- Ability to work effectively in a multiculturalcontext and maintain a commitment to international public service.
Other Mandatory Requirements
Travel: You must arrange and finance the travel to Beijing.
Medical insurance: You must show proof of acomprehensive health insurance valid in China.
Medical certificate: Before the beginning ofyour internship, you must provide a medical certificate indicating that you arefit to work.
ID and Certificate of Enrolment/Diploma(if you have just recently graduated).
Important
The duration of the internship is six months,at least four days each week, full-time preferred;
The aim of the internship is to give you professionalexperience in an international organization which relates to and supplementsyour studies;
UNESCO Beijing Office covers travelallowance up to RMB2,000 per month. Costs and arrangements for additional travelexpenses, visa, and accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility ofinterns or their sponsoring institutions;
As the internship programme is not connectedwith the recruitment process, the granting of an internship should not beinterpreted in any way as a preliminary step towards employment at the Office.
